I’d heard the Dunlop Factory come up in conversations before, but I’d never been there. I’d Searched Google maps for buildings I thought might be what I though it looked like and searching online and flickr lead to “it’s in St Peters” “It’s in Alexandria” “its blah blah blah”. But I couldn’t get a definite answer. The only way to know for sure was to go and check out all the places suggested online….and eventually we found it.
Its a HUMONGOUS beautiful factory covered in graffiti/street art, old papers and furniture from when it used to be a places of business and maybe some evidence that people might be sleeping there. Its one of those “sometimes open” places, I’ve been past since my first visit and it was locked up tight and would require you to gain access via “the back entry” and other times open as anything.
It any case, its worth a look….if you can find it.
Tip: Try looking down Bowden Street in Alexandria, Sydney.
